A 59 year-old Caucasian man with diabetes mellitus, type II, hypercholesterolemia and hypertension and who
reported having a severe fall seven months prior to presentation. About three days after the fall, he reported 'bruiselike'
areas involving his forearms and abdomen, which eventually faded and left behind the current skin
lesions. Laboratory values for ANA, ANCA, antisclera-70, and anti-centromere were all negative. The patient's
medications included insulin, glyburide, exenatide, cyclobenzaprine, flouxetine, metoprolol succinate and
rosuvastatin.
