43yo Asian furniture maker presented to the NY presbyterian Emergency Room with a painful rash of skin, mouth, eyes, and urethral meatus with sloughing; rash began on his face, neck and arms about 2 weeks previously. Despite oral prednisone rash worsened. No recent drug exposue however he started to work with imported rosewood and ebony shortly before the onset of the rash. Interestingly a similar rash developed in the patient's co-worker.
