58 year-old female with history of minimally invasive esophageal carcinoma presented with a rapidly growing selling on the finger. Radiological studies revealed distal phalangeal mass in soft tissue destroying the bone of the distal phalanx.
A frozen section was performed during excision and was called carcinoma consistent with metastatic carcinoma of the esophagus.
The case was presented at a conference. Histological findings suggested an alternative diagnosis.
Imaging studies revealed multiple lung nodules consistent with metastasis.
