Dr. Alex Lazar's Conference Page

    Born in California in the late 1960’s, Alexander Lazar MD/PhD is currently Professor in the Departments of  Pathology, Genomic Medicine, Dermatology, and Translational Molecular Pathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.   Alex is the Fellowship Director for soft tissue & bone pathology as well as Director of sarcoma and melanoma clinical genomics.  He serves on the editorial board of multiple journals.  He has published widely in the fields of soft tissue and skin tumors, currently more than 400 peer reviewed articles and book chapters.  He is one of the co-editors of McKee’s Pathology of the Skin with Clinical Correlations, soon to be released in its 5th edition.  He served on the Standing Editorial Board of the WHO / IARC Cancer Classification (5th edition, Blue Book series).  He has lectured widely, including every continent excepting Antarctica.  His research interests currently focus on the integrated genomic and proteomic analysis of solid tumors and oncoimmunologic therapy and the microbiome focusing on melanoma and sarcoma.
