Dr Yu-Hung Wu is currently an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology, Mackay Memorial College, and a practicing dermatologist and dermatopatologist at the Department of Dermatology, Mackay Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. He served as the chair of the department, Chief-in-Editor of Dermatological Sinica (the official journal of Taiwanese Dermatological Association), and executive committee member of International Society of Dermatopathology between 2007 and 2013.
Dr. Wu received his M.D. degree from the Taipei Medical University in 1991 and completed his 4-year dermatology resident training at Mackay Memorial Hospital. He received dermatopathology fellowship training at Indiana University with Dr. Antoinette Hood in 2001. In 2002, he started a continuous monthly dermatopathology lecture in Taipei which has continued for more than 10 years. It’s a comprehensive teaching project including 36 lectures in a 3-year-based round, including inflammatory skin diseases, alopecia, deposition, infection, and cutaneous neoplasms. All lectures are free for residents or professional physicians to attend. Twelve lectures of inflammatory skin diseases have been collected and published on DVD.
Dr. Wu also directs an international dermatopathology fellowship program in cooperation with the Asian Academy of Dermatology & Venereology since 2010. Dermatologists from Malaysia, Vietnam, and Myanmar who received dermpath training in this program. He dedicates himself most of the time to continuing education. He is currently on the Board of Directors and Chair of both the Continuing Education Committee of Taiwanese Dermatological Association and the Core Curriculum Committee of Taiwan Evidence-Based Medicine Association.
Dr. Wu is an excellent violin and viola player. He is the Viola Section Leader of Physician’s Chamber Orchestra of Taiwan, Taipei Civic Symphony Orchestra, and invited Viola Section Leader of World Doctor Orchestra.
