    Dr Joyce Lee is a Senior Consultant Dermatologist at the National Skin Centre (NSC), Singapore. Dr Lee obtained her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Science) degree from the National University of Singapore. After obtaining her MMED/MRCP in Internal Medicine, she went on to receive her specialist accreditation in Dermatology in Singapore. She completed her Dermatopathology Fellowship at the Skin and Cancer Foundation, Australia, and obtained the ICDP-UEMS International Board Certification in Dermatopathology 2006.

     

    Dr Lee currently heads the Dermatopathology and Laboratories Division at NSC, and is also the Consultant-in-charge of the Hair and Nail clinic. Her subspecialty interests lie in hair disorders and hair pathology. She is actively involved in research at NSC, with most of her research interests in the areas of hair disorders and dermatopathology, and is a recipient of various national research grants.

     

    As an active member of the academia, Dr Lee is Clinical Tutor to medical students from both Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Singapore. She is the course organizer for the Dermatopathology National Training Program in Singapore, as well as a course instructor for the Histopathology National Training Program. Apart from serving as core clinical faculty member for the Dermatology Senior Residency Program at NSC, Dr Lee also oversees the Dermatopathology Fellowship program at NSC since it became an ICDP-UEMS accredited specialty training centre in 2015. In 2016, she became the recipient of the NHG (National Healthcare Group) Education Leaders Award.

     

    She had served in the executive committee of the International Society of Dermatopathology, and in the International Committee for Dermatopathology. Dr Lee is an active reviewer for various regional and international journals including the American Journal of Dermatopathology. She has published more than 70 articles in international peer-reviewed journals to date, and has authored a book chapter on Hair disorders in the atlas “Asian Skin: A reference colour atlas of dermatology and venereology”.
