Tammie Ferringer, M.D.

    Dr. Ferringer is the section head for Geisinger Medical Laboratory's dermatopathology subspecialty section. She is also an Associate in the Department of Dermatology at Geisinger Medical Center and serves as the director of the Dermatopathology Fellowship Program. She earned her MD at Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. After completing her dermatopathology fellowship at Medical University of South Carolina in 2004, Dr. Ferringer returned to Geisinger Medical Center to fulfil her passion to teach and mentor.  She currently sees patients 2 half-days per week, and devotes the remainder of her time to academic endeavors, administration, and dermatopathology.

     

    Dr. Ferringer has served on, or chaired, several committees of the AAD, APD, ABD, ASDP, ISDP, ACGME, and ABP. Her current editorial roles include the JAAD and Cutis. She has directed or moderated a dozen courses or sessions and been invited speaker for more than 70 domestic and international lectures on a variety of topics, including tropical and infectious disease, adnexal tumors, and immunohistochemistry.  Her current literary contributions include over 50 journal articles or textbook chapters, co-editor of a dermatopathology textbook, and co-author of an online and mobile dermatopathology application.
