Clinical Features:
- Pustulofollicular alopecia presenting as patches of alopecia with follicular pustules at the advancing edge
Histologic Features:
- Early lesions show intra- and perifollicular neutrophilic infiltrates.
- Localized perfollicular dermal abscesses are often present.
- As the disease progesses, there is rupture of hair follicles with destruction of the follicles and perifollicular fibrosis.
- Late lesions show a mixed infiltrate comprised of lymphocytes, plasma cells and neutrophils.
