    Clinical Features:

    • Peak incidence in children and young adults; female predominance
    • Annular papules, primarily on the dorsal surfaces of the extremities

    Histologic Features:

    • Fully developed lesions show dermal palisading granulomas surrounding degenerated collagen ("necrobiosis") and mucin.
    • Early lesions ("interstitial granuloma annulare") lack well-developed granulomas and instead show groups of macrophages dissecting between dermal collagen fibers.
