Lichen nitidus

Clinical Features:

  • Numerous 1-mm flesh-colored papules most commonly on the trunk and penis in children

Histologic Features:

  • A focal round collection of lymphocytes in the papillary dermis
  • The overlying epidermis is atrophic, often with parakeratosis, and the rete ridges form collarettes extending down around the dermal lymphocytes, forming a "ball in clutch."
  • Focal vacuolar alteration of the stratum basale
