Clinical Features:
- Arises at sites of trauma, such as surgical scars or following penetrating trauma
- May communicate with the dermis by way of a fistula tract.
Histologic Features:
- Dermal pseudocyst lined by polypoid projections closely resembling inflamed synovium
- The surface of the polypoid projections contains inflammatory cells and a fibrinous exudate, without an epithelial lining.
- An associated scar is commonly present.
