Palmoplantar warts

    Clinical Features:

    • Variant of verrucae vulgares most commonly occurring as a solitary lesion on the ball of the foot
    • Often markedly hyperkeratotic

    Histologic Features:

    • Marked hyperkeratosis
    • Marked papillomatosis
    • Vacuolated keratinocytes with brightly eosinophilic inclusions around the periphery of the cell
    • Strongly basophilic, round keratinocyte nuclei
