Reactive perforating collagenosis

Clinical features:

  • Rare genetic disorder. 
  • Characterized by hyperkeratotic papules following minor trauma, most commonly on the ams and hands.

Histology:

  • Hyperkertotic plug "perforating" the epidermis
  • The plug and subjacent dermis contain collagen fibers and inflammatory cells: macrophages, giant cells, lymphocytes and especially neutrophils.
