Clinical Features:
- Pruritic papules, vesicles or burrows
- Caused by infestation by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei
Histologic Features:
- Mite body parts, eggs or feces are sometimes (levels may be required to find) within or subjacent to the stratum corneum.
- Acanthosis and/or spongiosis may be present.
- Perivascular or nodular dermal infiltrate of lymphocytes and eosinophils
