Clinical Features:

• Pruritic papules, vesicles or burrows
• Caused by infestation by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei

Histologic Features:

• Mite body parts, eggs or feces are sometimes (levels may be required to find) within or subjacent to the stratum corneum.
• Acanthosis and/or spongiosis may be present.
• Perivascular or nodular dermal infiltrate of lymphocytes and eosinophils
