Dear Colleagues:
This is indeed a pleasure to present you with the detailed program about our upcoming symposium, which will be held at the Ritz-Carlton at Amelia Island on February 10-13, 2011. This program is designed to provide a panoramic overview of the latest scientific information surrounding breast disease. Each session is devoted to a different spectrum of breast disease with emphasis on an integrated and multidisciplinary approach. This symposium has now 16 years of history in providing an educational experience for those who have been interested in the study and management of breast disease. Started as a bold idea in 1995, this multidisciplinary symposium is a unique display of an assembly of physicians/scientists, health care providers and patient advocates who had recognized the necessity of direct communication about the issues that matter in breast health care. This year, our symposium is jointly sponsored by Moffitt Cancer Center and we are excited about this partnership.
As in previous years, this symposium is enriched by the overwhelming interest of highly recognized speakers who have graciously agreed to share their experience with the audience of this symposium. Our Keynote Speaker for this year is Dr. Armando Giuliano, one of the most outstanding authorities in breast cancer surgery who will talk about "History and Current Status of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in Breast Cancer: A Personal Perspective on Clinical Research." This presentation will be followed by Professor Umberto Veronesi, the world renowned clinician/scientist who has devoted his life in improving the quality of care for breast cancer patients. He will provide an overview of the progress in breast cancer management.
We have included "The Breast Journal Award" in recognition of the value of research about breast health care. This award is sponsored by Wiley-Blackwell and includes an attractive plaque, a check, and free subscription to The Breast Journal for a one-year period. The three winners will present their papers during Saturday's lunch time.
We are confident that you will enjoy the experience of participating in this symposium. I hope that you will seriously consider joining us in Florida on Valentine weekend.
See you in Amelia Island.
