Overview

Dermatology for Primary Care will highlight a broad range of dermatologic problems commonly encountered by practicing physicians. Topics include pediatric dermatology, eczema, common and more challenging dermatoses encountered in the office, melanoma & non-melanoma skin cancers, and dermatoses of pregnancy. Limited-enrollment hands-on procedure labs will round out the program. Ample time will be provided for questions and interaction with course faculty.

Objectives

At the conclusion of the course participants should have:
♦Better ability to recognize skin cancers and select appropriate biopsy techniques
♦Improved diagnostic skills for common pediatric skin diseases
♦Improved ability to recognize and manage some common and some potentially serious diseases of the skin
♦Familiarity with techniques for shave and punch biopsies and elliptical excisions
♦Improved skills in managing patients with eczema
♦Increased knowledge of skin eruptions that occur during pregnancy
