Dear ICRS Members, Colleagues, and Guests,

On behalf of the International Cartilage Repair Society, I am pleased to invite you to attend the 9th ICRS World Congress in Sitges - Barcelona, Spain. This will be our first ICRS World Congress on the sunny Mediterranean coast and represents our continued commitment to globalization as a society. Sitges is a small fishing village located southwest of Barcelona that has an excellent reputation for hosting large conferences, yet it remains a town with deep architectural and cultural heritage and a vibrant urban center. Our local organizing Committee Chairs for Sitges, Ramon Cugat and Pedro Guillen have been working closely with the ICRS Executive Team and the Program Co-Chairs, Bruce Caterson     and Christopher Erggelet, to orchestrate an exceptional scientific, educational, and social event.

The ICRS World Congress is our most important event of our Society. It is through active participation in World Congress events that surgeons, scientists, and industry representatives exchange ideas and partner in our unified goal. Together, we strive to further our understanding joint biology and improve cartilage repair to help our patient's live active, pain-free lives. The World Congress also provides an ideal venue for us as a society to demonstrate our devotion to education and training of our young scientists and clinicians through directed instructional courses, industry symposia, and didactically-focused sessions.

Start writing your abstracts today and save the dates of September 26-29, 2010 to attend the ICRS World Congress! Visit our website www.cartilage.org for frequent updates on dates for abstract submission and recent developments in the World Congress. Thank you for your support of the ICRS and I look forward to seeing you in Sitges, Spain in September, 2010.

Sincerely,

Lisa A. Fortier

President
