A blessed new year to all! The Department of Pathology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) would like to announce two microscopy workshops for 2011, and we wish to invite you to join us for several days of fun, fellowship and food around the microscope. 1) 1st SGH Pathology Hematolymphoid workshop,Nov 1-3, 2011 (with a precourse hands-on wet workshop on 1 Nov 2011). 2) 2nd SGH Pathology Breast Course, Nov 4-5, 2011. Feel free to attend either one or both of these workshops. 1st SGH Hematolymphoid pathology course: -focus is on B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, esp. the spectrum of low grade and aggressive B-cell lymphomas. - glass and virtual slides for individual microscopy and discussion - will emphasize the integration of molecular technology with morphology-based diagnostic pathology. - includes pre-course hands-on wet workshop on immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridization. 2nd SGH breast pathology course: - focus is on the challenges and pitfalls of preoperative diagnosis using core biopsy and cytology. - Glass and virtual slides of all cases for individual microscopy and discussion. - Guest lecturers: Dr Ian Ellis from Nottingham UK, Dr Fernando Schmitt from Lisbon Portugal, and Dr Gary Tse from Hong Kong.
