Hawaii Dermatology Seminar, managed by Skin Disease Education Foundation, is devoted to educating and updating physicians about diseases and conditions of the skin. Through various instructive methods, we provide dermatologists and other healthcare professionals with an increased awareness of new techniques and technologies useful in maintaining a dermatologic practice.
Learning Objectives
Explain current challenges in cutaneous oncology including melanoma and CTCL.
Evaluate emerging treatments for advanced melanoma.
Examine new treatments for common dermatologic diseases and integrate them into practice.
Describe the clinical features of psoriasis and differentiate between the role of “old” and “new” biologics, as well as systemic and phototherapy in the treatment of this disease.
Identify co-morbidities that may affect decisions regarding therapy in individual patients with psoriasis.
Assess treatment approaches for the pediatric patient with common as well as complex skin diseases.
Compare and contrast the use of lasers, lights, and other energy-based systems.
Explore state-of-the-art technology for facial rejuvenation and body sculpting.
Define new concepts in the use of botulinum neurotoxins and fillers for facial restoration.
