nder the supervision of the Laboratory Director, the Histology Supervisor oversees and directs the activities of the Histology department. They assure the performance with proficiency and understanding of the tests and procedures assigned to the Histology Department. The position is responsible for grossing, processing, embedding, cutting and staining (H&E and Special Stains) of tissue blocks, accurate reporting of results, quality control, teaching, special projects, equipment maintenance and all other duties of the department. Will direct all activities of the Histology staff, including technologists and pathology assistants in the Histology area.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: An associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution required. Supervisory experience in Histology preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Working knowledge of computer application software and LIS (Laboratory Information System).
Certificate/License: Histology Technician (HT) or Histology Technologist (HTL) (ASCP) or equivalent certification required. Canadian or Foreign registered with college degree required.
