Outstanding MD and MD/PhD board-eligible or board-certified dermatologists are invited to
apply for a post-doctoral or Physician Scientist position with the potential for a faculty
appointment as part of a newly established multidisciplinary Center for the Study of Itch.
Candidates will be establishing a disease-focused clinical practice (patients with pruritus) while
working with innovative researchers who have determined neurocutaneous pathways specific to
itch. Areas of potential scientific investigation include the development of animal models,
potential mechanisms of pathway blockade and translation to clinical practice. The primary
appointment is in the Division of Dermatology, with a possibility for a joint appointment in

Anesthesiology with a focus upon interdisciplinary studies of mechanisms of itch and its
effective treatment. Candidates with strong interests in the study of neurocutaneous biology
and cutaneous diseases where pruritus is significant component are encouraged to apply.
