Subcutaneous thrombotic vasculopathy/early calciphylaxis?

We have collected a series of 3 patients with painful ulcers and histological featuers characterized by thrombotic vasculopathy limited to the subcutaneous tissue capillaries.

The pattern of involvement of blood vessels is very similar to that in calciphylaxis, but calcifications have not been seen in routine sections or using Von-Kossa calcium stain.

More information about these cases will be presented shortly.
