Whitney High, MD, JD, MEng

    Dr. High is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist.  He received his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.  After spending some time in industry, he returned to medical school to earn his degree from Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. 

    Dr. High completed his internship at P/SL Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, followed by a dermatology residency at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas, Texas, where he served as a Chief Resident.  A dermatopathology fellowship was completed at the University of Colorado, where he has remained on faculty.

    Dr. High has also earned a diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene from the Gorgas Institute in Lima, Peru.  In his spare time, he attended law school at the University of Denver Sturm School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate, in addition to his medical degree and advanced engineering degree.

    Dr. High has published a large number of papers in peer-reviewed journals, he has authored numerous chapters in dermatology and dermatopathology textbooks, and he has co-authored three textbooks with other leaders in his field.  He lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of topics in dermatology and dermatopathology. Dr. High’s collaborative research laboratory was first to discover gadolinium in the tissue of patients with nephrogenic systemic fibrosis.


    Dr. High was promoted to Associate Professor just three years after completing his training and he was the youngest member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, as well.  He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards in dermatology and dermatopathology, and is widely regarded for the quality of his work in both fields.
